Why
Peacock Fancy Fakes it:
Why
Fake it?
The top quality faux fur that Peacock Fancy
uses is barely distinguishable from real fur and therefore
there is no longer a need to use animals for their fur.
Peacock Fancy feels this is a win/win situation as you get
beautiful items minus any animal cruelty involved.
Is
faux fur as warm as real fur?
The individual fibres are what trap the heat
(just like wearing lots of layers on a cold day is more effective
than just one thick layer). It makes no difference whether
the fibres are artificial or real. The faux furs used to make
Peacock Fancy’s fur products are made with a maximum
number of fibres which is one of the reasons why the furs
are so dense, silky and soft and therefore just like genuine
fur.
Faux
Fur Care
Dry clean is recommended. The furs are hand
washable in lukewarm (nearly cold) water with a gentle ‘hand-wash’
soap powder. Heat must NOT be applied to the furs in any circumstances;
therefore the products cannot be ironed.
Spot
cleaning small areas with soap is the best way to remove spillages.
Do not heat to dry or put near a radiator. Leave to dry
naturally; the best way to dry is to lay the item flat or
hang over/on a line. The reason for this is the product
used to make the faux fur so silky and genuine is susceptible
to heat and therefore any heat applied will ruin the faux
fur fabric.
Treat
the faux fur as if it was real fur.
Do
Faux Furs shed?
Unlike the real thing, faux fur does not shed
any fibres. However there may be some loose fibres present
when receiving products which are left over from the cutting
and making processes of the item, so just give the product
a quick shake when new.
Are
Faux Fur fabrics fire retardant?
No, all fur products should be kept away from
fires, naked flames and flammable materials. E.g. Cigarettes,
candles and open fires etc.
Product
use
Just like real fur, Peacock Fancy’s faux
fur products are delicate and should be treated with care
as they are not made for heavy wear and tear.
